SAIL’s Pathways to Personal Empowerment is designed for enrollment of public, charter, and private school students by their school administrators. This course equips high school students with intellectual disabilities with greater autonomy and an improved quality of life. The curriculum supports a smooth transition to adulthood, covering topics such as self-advocacy, employment readiness, independent living, social skills, health and wellness, community-mindedness, and using technology for independence. Enroll your students in this person-centered class to meet state and federal requirements and contribute to their successful transition to adulthood. Classes are taught by instructors who have a deep understanding of social norms and group dynamics. This certification is designed to provide the key skills necessary to serve as classroom aide in a Montessori/Reggio Emilia inspired preschool, serving children aged 2 to 5. Throughout the program, trainees will receive ongoing feedback and support from experienced mentors. Continuous assessments, including exams and practical experience, will ensure that trainees are well-prepared for their role as classroom aide in a preschool. Through preschool classroom visitations and consistent mentorship, the program enriches students' learning experiences, emphasizing the importance of connecting with little ones, keeping them engage in learning and maintaining safety. The program masterfully combines targeted hospitality training with invaluable industry exposure. Creative Collective is an exciting class designed for adults aged 18-30 with intellectual disabilities who want to explore entrepreneurship, develop new skills, and make money! Imagine being part of a business team where you create, promote, and sell handcrafted products online—all while learning how to run a small business.
In this hands-on program, you'll start by working together to create unique products, learning every step of the process from idea to sale. Then, you’ll have the chance to launch your own product or collaborate with others to bring your business ideas to life. From pitching your concept to designing, marketing, and selling, you’ll gain practical experience that empowers you to achieve financial independence.
Throughout this course, you will:
* Develop business ideas and choose products to create
* Calculate startup costs and pitch ideas for funding
* Make, package, and market your products
Learn how to manage expenses and profits to become financially savvy. Troubleshoot challenges and celebrate successes with your peers

Anchors Away is a lively and engaging program designed for young adults, ages 18-30, with intellectual disabilities who are looking to make new friends and enjoy fun activities in a supportive environment. This unique class offers a warm, welcoming space to connect with others, share laughs, and build lasting friendships!
Participants will enjoy a variety of hands-on activities, from cooking delicious meals and baking tasty treats to expressing creativity through art and other fun projects. Each session is filled with opportunities to learn new skills while having a great time together!
Students will gather for a communal lunches, get moving with group nature walks and yoga, and enjoy music appreciation sessions that bring everyone together. Gardening, team games, and playful challenges add even more excitement to the mix!
A special highlight of Anchors Away is the "Library Leadership" experience, where participants will help manage and organize a library at Voyagers’ Community School. This rewarding activity builds teamwork, responsibility, and organizational skills in a real-world setting.
Throughout this 6-week program, participants will practice essential communication skills, gain confidence, and enjoy a variety of social interactions. Whether you’re looking to have fun, make friends, or try something new, Anchors Away is the perfect place to set sail!
